Spotlight: Althea Nova

If we think spring it will get here faster.

And what better way to “think spring” than our Althea Nova pattern? Like traditional botanical prints, these porcelain gems are adorned with paintings of coriander, sage, caraway, lovage and chervil. I love this pattern because it is happy and full of positive energy.

I also love the balance of color and design. Notice that each piece has a different herb on it. The play of color and mixing of design is quite avant-garde, as nothing truly matches, yet, as in nature, it all “goes” together. You can easily play up the color with linens and glass, or keep it modern with clear stems and wooden or straw placemats. My mind is swirling with centerpiece ideas, oh we’ll have to come back to Althea Nova for “herbal centerpieces”. My family and I are really into fresh herbs. They are so healthy for you. So, I love that this is more than just beautiful, it’s harmony with health and nature.

And the serving pieces! One hero piece after another. Before we go and peg this pattern as a spring/summer fashion, I can’t help but imagine October cocktail parties, Thanksgiving dinner and New Year’s brunch with these gorgeous pieces. Plus the sizes are generous in proportion and super functional.

Can we all take another look at these serving bowls? Decorated INSIDE & OUT!!! I’m in love. And when not in use, I’ve got just the perfect spot on my bookshelf to highlight one of these works of art.

Happy spring to all.
